TOUR 1 | MENDOCINO PRIVATE WINE TASTING
'Off-the-Path' Wineries near Elk, in the Anderson Valley & beyond | $425
Of all the wine tours available in Mendocino county, our intention is to provide an experience like none other. You'll be hard-pressed to find a guided tour that is as personalized and behind-the-scenes as this!
We use our long-time relationships fostered through Glendeven's Wine Bar[n] connections to get you access to at least two local wineries that otherwise are not open to the public where you'll experience special tastings and behind-the-scenes looks at wine making and vineyard management.
Then we'll head off to a third stop for an exclusive look at yet another -- in the Anderson Valley this time -- and then a stop at the Madrones where you'll experience four tasting rooms -- for a total of four stops and SEVEN wineries. TOUR 2 | HOOF IT DOWN SOUTH
An Organic Dairy Farm, African Hoof Stock & a Lighthouse | $425
Leaving Glendeven Inn after breakfast, you'll glide down the coast in our luxury sedan toward the small coastal town of Point Arena. You'll experience the Stornetta Organic Dairy on a private tour where you'll see calves being born, see milking production, learn about how organic dairy farms work including cutting edge manure recycling management, and all this with an ocean view and vistas for miles. You'll be amazed and pampered at this stop and owners could not be nicer people. It's impossible.
Then we'll head off to a private tour of B. Bryan Preserve where you'll see more animals, although at this stop they're even more exotic, but still hooved. B Bryan Preserve has been actively committed to the breeding and
preservation of African hoof stock for over a decade. Their animals range from critically endangered to
endangered and include various species of zebra and antelope. Not a
zoo, but a private preserve housing majestic African animals in large
open fields.
Finally you'll be whisked to the historical and beautiful Point Arena lighthouse for a private tour. Set in one of the most spectacular yet peaceful surroundings on the northern California coast, the Point Arena tower is the only Pacific West coast lighthouse of significant height (115 feet) that you can climb to the top! TOUR 3 | GO EAST, GO EAST
Giant redwoods, Campovida gardens, Buddhists & Beer | $425
Ditch the amazing coastline for a day and experience inland Mendocino County's hidden treasures. In Montgomery Woods State National Reserve you'll walk among the REAL giants. Something to write home about. Then you'll be carefully and gently whisked though the redwoods east to an amazing property full of organic gardens, acres of grapevines, historic buildings, a lake, wine tasting and much more to discover. Campovida is an amazing stop.
Off we'll go to lunch at The City of 10,000 Buddhas where you'll feast on vegan fare, a meal that you'll not soon forget. A taste treat for any palate and for whichever type of "____-avore" you happen to be. The City Of Ten Thousand Buddhas is an international Buddhist community and monastery founded by the Venerable Master Hsuan Hua, an important figure in Western Buddhism. It is one of the first Chinese Zen Buddhist temples in the United States, and one of the largest Buddhist communities in the Western Hemisphere.
After lunching, we'll head back west through the Anderson Valley to get a private tour of the Anderson Valley Brewing Company. You'll learn about the basics of beer making and see their state-of-the-art, three-story Bavarian-style
brew house. The centerpieces of the brew house are gleaming 100- and 85-
barrel copper brew kettles rescued by Ken Allen from a defunct German
breweries during a trip to Europe in 1995. Much to see and learn for beer lovers and beer-novices alike. (7 hours) Lunch & all fees Included |

Glendeven's Mendocino Day Trip car is a Phaeton by Volkswagen made as a limited US release.
The Phaeton's platform is shared with the Audi A8L, Bentley Continental GT, and Flying Spur. It is an 8-cylinder, ultra quiet, long wheel-base sedan.
