1. Wild Fish

If you want an amazing meal straight from the ocean, visit Wild Fish Restaurant. Owners Liz and Kevin Jacobs are a dynamic food duo that have made it their mission to use only fresh, sustainable ingredients and to give guests a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience. Kevin is an award-winning chef who believes in using the bounty of the earth and eliminating processed food. His wife, Liz, is a food writer who shares the same values. Together, they serve up mouth-watering entrees like Wild King Salmon, Petrale Sole, and Northern Halibut, all locally sourced. It’s a seafood lover’s dream come true!

2. Mendo Bistro

With their extensive small plates menu you can taste six amazing dishes for just $50!  That’s $25 each for any three of the long list of delectable nice-size portions on their new menu.  You can still get regular size entrees too!  And there’s nothing like a big bowl of fresh pasta, and Mendo Bistro on the beautiful Mendocino Coast proves that. Their housemade pasta including Pappardelle Bolognese and Bucatini Puttanesca will have you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside, especially when paired with a glass of wine. In addition, Mendo Bistro offers a variety of freshly caught seafood options, crisp salads, and decadent desserts. You can even recreate some of their famous dishes at home by checking out the recipe link on their website. With a little something for everyone, Mendo Bistro is one restaurant you just have to visit.

3. Piaci Pub & Pizzeria

Thought you could only get quality pizza in New York? Not anymore! Piaci Pub offers a variety of Italian favorites on the West Coast, including calzones, pasta, and, of course, pizza. Try one of their unique Focaccia-style pizzas, like smoked salmon with capers or anchovy with red pepper flakes. Or, go big with a 16-inch pie loaded with delicious toppings and cooked to perfection. Each piece is a slice of heaven, and their extensive list of craft beers puts this pizza place in a league of its own.  And with an abundance of micro-brews on tap, you’re sure to not leave thirsty.

4. Cafe Beaujolais

This French restaurant is in Mendocino and started as a Victorian farmhouse back in 1893. Over time, various owners have worked to maintain the restaurant’s historic charm and elegant grounds. Cafe Beaujolais has beautiful gardens that are filled with exotic plants and edible flowers that provide the perfect backdrop for diners. In addition, their cuisine focuses on locally grown and organic produce, as well as meats that come from animals who live in free-range environments. Menu favorites include pan-roasted California sturgeon fillet, Petaluma duck two-ways, and local wild mushroom and butternut squash crepes. Yum!

5. Trillium

Trillium Cafe is located in the heart of Mendocino Village and features delicious, locally-sourced dishes that are fresh from the Mendocino County coast. Be sure to try their Miso-grilled prawns, served with ginger risotto and vegetables, or their housemade Cajun shellfish fettuccine that is chock-full of mussels, smoked scallops, prawns, and andouille sausage.
