Spend an Exciting Day at Anderson Valley Brewing Company
Since 1987, Anderson Valley Brewing Company has been handcrafting authentic ales and lagers with a passion for sustainable brewing practices. Located in Booneville, CA, this pioneer institution started out as a modest 10-barrel brewhouse and was one of only 20 craft breweries in the country. Their award-winning ales, porters, stouts, and wheat beers gained a cult following among fans of the growing craft beer movement, and the high demand allowed the company to grow and expand. Today, Anderson Valley Brewing Co. produces over 15,000 barrels a year in their three-story Bavarian-style brewhouse that is a must-see attraction in California.
Visit Anderson Valley Brewing Company
A trip to this California brewery is a fantastic way to spend the day. Located just two hours south of the Inns of Glendeven in Mendocino, you can tour the brewery and taproom, get competitive with a game of disc golf, indulge in a cold pint or two (or three!), and simply sit back and relax. Here are some of our favorite things to do at the brewery.
The first thing you’ll want to do when you visit the brewery is, of course, taste the beer! Their bold and balanced ales have made Anderson Valley one of the most highly awarded craft breweries in the country. Visitor favorites include:
Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout: This brew’s aroma of freshly baked bread, espresso, and dried cherries, along with rich toffee and chocolate flavors, create an unparalleled drinking experience for guests.
Boont Amber Ale: This ale has a slight caramel sweetness and a spicy, herbal bitterness that creates a crisp, clean finish.
Winter Solstice: Boasting a deep amber hue and rich mouthfeel, this brew’s creamy finish will lift your spirits on cold winter days.
Hop Ottin’ IPA: This beer is a showcase of the bright citrusy aromas, bold grapefruit and pine-like flavors, and resiny bitterness that IPA lovers crave.
Things To Do
In addition to the brewery’s picnic groves, tap room, and horse pastures is the famous Anderson Valley Brewing Company disc golf course. Anderson Valley is the first in the world to offer an 18 hole disc golf course right on the brewery grounds, and it’s completely free to play! Pick up a six-pack of your favorite flavors and a course map at the tap room before heading out for a game.
Each year, Anderson Valley Brewing Company donates approximately 2,000 of spent grain to local livestock ranchers as a nutritionally-rich feed supplement. They also have 768 solar panels on top of the brewhouse, and the power of the sun provides over 40% of the energy needed to run the entire operation. With ethical practices and a strong commitment to the environment, Anderson Valley allows guests to have a cold one that they’ll feel good about.
